Batman Arkham: understand the chronological ORDER of the games

The Arkham games are undoubtedly the best Batman games ever released, and some of the best Batman stories you can find. The world of Arkham is incredibly detailed and stays true to the comics of the Dark Knight, while also changing things to create a truly unique setting. So, since we will soon have two new games coming, this is without a doubt a great time to binge-play the Arkham games.

The Arkham games have an extensive and strong collection of titles released, which were developed over more than ten years of game releases since the first entry Batman: Arkham Asylum that arrived on consoles in 2009. And with each aaaaanew game, the games of the Arkham franchise featured updated technology, using all the features of the latest generation consoles on which they launched.

Batman: Arkham Origins:

At the beginning of Batman’s career, the young vigilante must fight against eight assassins while Black Mask puts a bounty on his head. The game emphasizes the early career of Bruce Wayne as a Vigilante and features the assassins hired by Black Mask to catch Batman.

Batman-Arkham-Origins

Arkham Origins is available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Owners of an Xbox One or Xbox Series that have physical media slots can also play Origins via backward compatibility.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate

A direct sequel to Arkham Origins, Batman must help stop a riot at the Blackgate prison. This game is different from the other Arkham games, being a side-scrolling beat-em-up, also known as 2.5D.

After returning the Joker to Arkham Asylum, Batman quickly realizes that he was tricked when a riot breaks out in the asylum. With the asylum staff overwhelmed, Batman must stop the Joker and all the other iconic villains who escaped.

The plot is basically set in the entire Arkham asylum. Taking us through the riot organized by the Joker. As well as other villains imprisoned by Batman himself, and who help the Joker. For peace and sanity to return, Batman will need to take down each of the villains.

Batman: Arkham City

After the unprecedented success and popularity that the first game in the series received, its sequel was released soon after. Batman: Arkham City was released two years after Arkham Asylum. Arkham City is also available for Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox 360 and PC.

After the events that occurred in the Asylum, some of the villains escape from the Asylum and take over a region of Gotham City. Transforming this area into what gave rise to the name of the game Arkham City.
